REAL WEDDINGS :: Katie & Kevin

The plan was to ask Katie to marry me when she arrived back to Houston from Atlanta on Saturday, June 27, 2009 the moment she stepped off the airplane. It seemed like the longest week ever! I had let a few people in on the plan and of course they all gave their input, ideas and suggestions. No, I didn’t ask, but I did use a piece of what everyone suggested to make it an awesome proposal. On Wednesday, June 24, 2009 after bible study I went to meet with Katie's parents at their home. Oh yeah, Katie's brother was there unknowingly as I talked with her parents; imparting his wisdom regarding marriage. According to Get Married Magazine, Brides are doing away with the traditional aisle and coming up with ideas such as circular, double sided, triangular, etc. This allows for the couple to enter from multiple locations while joining together as one in the middle. This fun idea might also make it easier for your guests to view the ceremony. Sometimes different can be a very good thing!

GET BUSY ::

Planning the Menu! This task should be done soon after booking your reception venue, and in some cases the catering will be included in your package. Food and beverage is one of the most important parts of any reception, so take your time to go over menus and really decide what is best for you and your guests. While it is good to get creative and have some signature dishes and drinks, but be sure to throw a few crowd pleasers in there as well.
